Liverpool’s strong start under new manager Arne Slot continued with a 2-1 victory at Wolves, propelling them to the top of the Premier League.

Ibrahima Konate’s header and Mohamed Salah’s penalty secured the win.

Liverpool have now won five of their six league matches, with their only loss coming against Nottingham Forest.

The result moves Liverpool one point clear of Manchester City and Arsenal at the top, while Wolves remain at the bottom of the table with just one point from six matches.

The Reds struggled early on but found the breakthrough in first-half stoppage time when Ibrahima Konaté headed in Diogo Jota’s cross to score his first Premier League goal.

Wolves were handed an equalizer in the 56th minute after a defensive mix-up between Konaté and goalkeeper Alisson allowed Rayan Aït-Nouri to score.

Liverpool quickly regained their lead when Mohamed Salah calmly converted a penalty, marking his fifth goal of the season.

Liverpool will now turn their attention to their upcoming UEFA Champions League home game against Bologna before facing Crystal Palace in the league next weekend.
