Saviour Godwin has parted ways with Saudi Arabian club Al-Okhdood after just one season, becoming one of several Nigerian internationals now unattached, NaijNaira can report.
Godwin chose not to extend his contract, which ended as Al-Okhdood began restructuring ahead of the 2025/26 Saudi Pro League season.
The 28-year-old forward joined the Saudi side in 2023 after a strong spell at Portuguese club Casa Pia.
He made 31 league appearances last season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in what was a productive campaign.
Despite being valued at €2 million, Godwin is now without a club and open to offers.
“Godwin gave us some great moments, but it was time to refresh the squad,” said a source close to Al-Okhdood.
He now joins a growing group of Super Eagles players entering free agency this summer.
Bright Osayi-Samuel, once of Fenerbahçe, is the most valuable among them, with a market value of €6.5 million.
Reports link him with moves to either Besiktas or Birmingham City.
David Akintola, Emeka Eze, and Victor Moses have also left their clubs, with Moses said to be considering his next move.
Jamilu Collins, Adebayo Adeleye, and Simy Nwankwo have also exited their teams following contract expirations.
Simy, one of Nigeria’s most effective Serie A scorers, is now clubless after leaving Salernitana.
Others include Bonke Innocent, Samuel Adegbenro, Okechukwu Azubuike, and Valentine Ozornwafor.
Anthony Ujah, Joel Obi, Michael Babatunde, and Reuben Gabriel have also joined the free agent list.
The transfer window could see a major reshuffling as these seasoned players weigh their next steps.
