Former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, and Bashir El-Rufai, the son of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, have engaged in a Twitter war over comments made by Senator Sani on the Nigerian government’s proposed plan to produce an aircraft before the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term.

Senator Sani had taken to Twitter to express his doubts on the Federal Government’s preparedness to produce an aircraft before May 29th, 2023, which is the end of President Buhari’s second term.

He stated that if the government is to meet up with the target, at least the aircraft’s tires should have been produced by now.

Bashir El-Rufai, in response to Senator Sani’s tweet, mocked the former lawmaker, saying he was happy that Senator Sani would be jobless for another eight years.

He went further to say that he loves Senator Sani’s tweets.

Senator Sani, not taking Bashir El-Rufai’s comment lightly, hit back hard, saying he does not expect much from the governor’s son, whom he referred to as an end product of a polygamist.

The exchange of words between the two politicians has generated mixed reactions on social media, with many Nigerians criticizing both parties for engaging in such an unnecessary and unproductive exchange.

While some Nigerians find the Twitter war amusing and entertaining, others have called on the politicians to be more responsible and focus on finding solutions to the country’s numerous challenges, rather than engaging in social media fights.
