Atiku Abubakar’s decision to exit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stems from deep dissatisfaction with the party’s current state, NaijNaira can report. According to his aide, Phrank Shuaibu, the PDP has lost its strength, relevance, and the bold voice needed to challenge Nigeria’s ruling government effectively.

While speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday, Shuaibu said the former Vice President made the move after observing that the party no longer functions as a credible opposition. His remarks follow Atiku’s formal resignation from the PDP, which was announced on Wednesday.

“He is not giving up. He can’t give up until he sees a better Nigeria,” Shuaibu said. “Atiku will not give up until we get rid of this clueless government. He will not give up until we have good leaders for this country called Nigeria.”

Shuaibu described the decision as principle-driven, not one made out of fear or pressure. He emphasized that the move was deliberate and necessary given the circumstances.
