The suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, may face charges for the illegal possession of a gun and live ammunition.
According to reports, he is accused of possessing a single-barrel shotgun without a license, as well as 123 rounds of live ammunition without a license.
These alleged offenses took place at a specific location in Lagos on or about June 15, 2023.
However, a court in Abuja recently voided his arrest and detention, and another court ordered the Department of State Service (DSS) to either charge Emefiele to court or release him.
The DSS had previously sought to arraign Emefiele for offenses related to terrorism financing and fraudulent activities.
