Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi recently hosted a charity event in Ajegunle, Lagos State, aimed at supporting children in local communities, NaijNaira can report.
Several Super Eagles players, including Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Tolu Arokodare, Frank Onyeka, William Troost-Ekong, and Raphael Onyedika, attended the event to show their support.
The event, called “Maracana Children’s Fest with Ndidi and Friends,” was held in partnership with the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation and took place on the well-known Maracana pitches in Ajegunle.
Hundreds of Nigerian football fans and community members came out in large numbers to witness the gathering and enjoy the atmosphere.
Children from the area participated in football games while being cheered on by the excited crowd and their football idols.
The players interacted warmly with the children, handed out gifts, and took photos, creating lasting memories for the young fans.
Ndidi shared his joy about the event, saying, “I’m excited about this project and the smiles on the faces of the children amaze me. This is something that they are looking forward to.”
He added, “For me, as a child, when you see the stars you watch on TV, it’s a different feeling, and that’s why we invited some of our colleagues to come see the project.”
Other Nigerian footballers, including Samuel Chukwueze, Sadiq Umar, and Akor Adams, have also supported similar efforts in their communities.
