The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to face their long-time rivals, Ghana and Mali, in friendly matches later this month. The games will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, with the clash against Ghana taking place at the Stade Grande de Marrakech on Friday, March 22.

Four days later, the Nigerian team will take on Mali at the same venue. These friendly matches will serve as preparation for the Super Eagles’ upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.

As the team gears up for these important matches, these friendlies will provide an opportunity for the players to fine-tune their skills and build team cohesion.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is currently in the process of selecting a new head coach for the Super Eagles.

After the departure of Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro last month, the NFF is yet to announce a permanent replacement.

The friendly matches against Ghana and Mali will be an opportunity for the interim coaching staff to assess the players and strategize for the upcoming qualifiers.

The three-time African champions, have a rich history of intense battles with both Ghana and Mali.
