Nigeria’s Super Falcons have officially unveiled their jersey numbers for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), NaijNaira can report.

According to report, the 24-woman squad is set to begin their title hunt this Sunday in Casablanca with a Group B opener against Tunisia.

The team enters the tournament chasing a record-extending 10th continental title after falling short in 2022.

Chiamaka Nnadozie, widely regarded as one of Africa’s top goalkeepers, keeps her preferred No. 16 shirt, while veteran Tochukwu Oluehi wears No. 1.

Asisat Oshoala, a tournament headliner, will wear her signature No. 8 jersey.

“If I’m healthy and on the pitch, I’m giving it everything — number doesn’t change that,” said the Barcelona striker.

American-born forward Ify Onumonu retains No. 9, while team captain Rasheedat Ajibade sticks with her reliable No. 15.

Christy Ucheibe will don the iconic No. 10 shirt, expected to anchor the midfield.

Newcomer Rinsola Babajide raised eyebrows by selecting No. 2 — an unusual pick for a forward.

“I don’t mind being different. I’m here to make an impact,” the Tenerife attacker shared.

Defensive stalwarts Osinachi Ohale (3), Ashleigh Plumptre (5), and Michelle Alozie (22) return with their familiar numbers.

Toni Payne, known for her precision and poise in midfield, reclaims No. 7.

With South Africa, Morocco, and Zambia also in strong form, Nigeria’s journey to the final promises to be anything but easy.
