Supreme Court Halt of CBN’s Naira Deposit Deadline Leaves Commercial Banks Conflicted

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

According to human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, the Supreme Court is obligated to make an example of Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele for disregarding its order on handling old naira notes.

The court had ordered a stay action on the February 10 deadline which the CBN had set for swapping of old naira notes with new ones.

However, despite the ruling, the bank issued a statement that indicated the deadline would still remain in place.

This defiance has angered Falana who said that anyone who fails to abide by court orders gives off the impression they are above law in a country enforcing rule of law.

As such he further stressed that an example needs to be made so people understand nobody is above law.
