Arsenal suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season, falling 2-0 to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, largely due to William Saliba’s first-half red card.

Saliba was sent off for hauling down Bournemouth striker Evanilson near the halfway line, denying him a clear run at goal. This was the third time this season that Arsenal finished a league match with only ten players.

While Bournemouth capitalized on Arsenal’s misfortunes, the Gunners struggled to regroup early in the match.

The first 20 minutes showed little threat from both teams, but things shifted dramatically once Saliba was shown a red card.

As the match progressed, Bournemouth seized the opportunity to strike.

They took the lead 20 minutes before the end with a stunning effort from substitute Ryan Christie that flew into the top corner.

Arsenal, now under immense pressure, left gaps in their defense.

Evanilson made them pay as he was fouled by goalkeeper David Raya, leading to Justin Kluivert successfully converting from the penalty spot.

Arsenal’s best efforts to mount a comeback were stifled, culminating in a disappointing defeat.
