English football is known for its rich history and passionate fan base. Over the years, several clubs have achieved great success and won numerous major trophies. However, there are also some notable clubs that have yet to taste glory on the biggest stage.

Arsenal

Arsenal, one of the most successful clubs in English football, surprisingly finds itself on this list. Despite their consistent presence in the top flight and their reputation for attractive football, the Gunners have not won a major trophy since their FA Cup triumph in 2017. Arsenal has come close on several occasions, reaching the finals of the UEFA Champions League in 2006 and the League Cup in 2011 and 2018, but they have fallen short of lifting the trophy.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur, another London-based club, is renowned for its attacking style of play and passionate fan base. However, they have not won a major trophy since their League Cup triumph in 2008. Spurs have had their fair share of near misses, reaching the finals of the UEFA Cup (now Europa League) in 1972 and 1984, as well as the League Cup in 2009 and 2015. Despite consistently finishing in the top half of the Premier League and competing in European competitions, Tottenham’s quest for a major trophy continues.

Leeds United

Leeds United, a club with a storied history, has experienced a prolonged period without major silverware. Since their last top-flight title win in 1992, Leeds has endured financial difficulties and a series of setbacks that saw them drop down to the lower divisions. Despite their recent promotion to the Premier League, Leeds United is yet to win a major trophy since their League Cup triumph in 1996.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United, a club with a passionate fan base and a rich history, has also been unable to secure a major trophy in recent years. Despite consistently attracting large crowds and competing in the top flight, Newcastle’s last major trophy win came in the form of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (now UEFA Europa League) in 1969. The Magpies have come close on several occasions, finishing as runners-up in the Premier League in 1996 and reaching the finals of the FA Cup in 1998 and 1999.

Everton

Everton, one of the oldest clubs in English football, has a proud history. However, they have not won a major trophy since their FA Cup triumph in 1995. Despite consistently finishing in the top half of the Premier League and participating in European competitions, Everton has been unable to break their trophy drought. The Toffees have come close on a few occasions, reaching the finals of the FA Cup in 2009 and the League Cup in 2016.

West Ham United

West Ham United, known for their attacking style of play and passionate fan base, is another club that has yet to win a major trophy. Despite their famous FA Cup triumph in 1964 and their memorable run to the final of the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1976, the Hammers have not been able to replicate that success in recent years. West Ham has come close to winning the League Cup, reaching the final in 1966, 1981, and 2020, but they have fallen short each time.

While these clubs have experienced success in various forms throughout their history, they are still waiting to lift a major trophy. However, their passionate fan bases and rich traditions continue to fuel their hopes and dreams of future glory.
