Alex Iwobi has opened up on the struggles he faced while at Arsenal, admitting that he received a lot of criticism during his time there.
The Nigeria international said that it was primarily his family who helped him stay mentally strong in the face of such difficult comments from fans.
Iwobi left Arsenal in 2019 for Everton in a £35m move and has become an integral part of the team since then.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Iwobi credited his father especially for teaching him to rise above the criticism and trust in himself.
He acknowledged that no matter where you go, people will always have an opinion but that it’s important to focus on giving your all for the team and ignoring any hostile feedback.
