A tragic accident occurred in Alaska when two US Army helicopters collided during a training flight, resulting in the death of three soldiers and injuring a fourth.
The helicopters were from the 1st Attack Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment at Fort Wainwright, and were carrying two people each at the time of the crash.
The injured soldier is currently receiving medical treatment. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the army has promised to release more details as they become available.
This is the second accident involving military helicopters in Alaska this year, following a February incident where two soldiers were injured and a March incident where nine soldiers were killed during a training exercise in Kentucky.
Major-General Brian Eifler expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the fallen soldiers and assured them that the full resources of the Army would be made available to support them during this difficult time.
