Three young women from Ecuador, Denisse Reyna, 19, Yuliana Macias, 21, and Nayeli Tapia, 22, were found dead with their throats slit and buried in a shallow grave during their beach holiday in Quininde, Ecuador.
The women were reported missing on April 4, and their bodies were discovered three days later by a group of fishermen who noticed a dog sniffing the ground near the Esmeraldas River.
Nayeli had sent her sister a text expressing her fear that something bad would happen, and she also shared her live location on WhatsApp.
Denisse had also sent a text to a friend expressing her concern and love.
Local police believe that the women were kidnapped, tortured, and killed on April 5, and their corpses showed signs of torture and injuries caused by sharp weapons.
The police are still investigating the case and trying to piece together the women’s journey before their tragic death.
