President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 22 individuals into leadership roles across key federal agencies and commissions.
According to The Nation, the list includes former Senate President Ken Nnamani, who will now serve as chairman of the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS). Also appointed is former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Ayim Pius, who takes the role of chairman of the National Merit Awards committee.
Others include Ibrahim Shehu Shema, former Katsina governor, now to lead the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), and Philip Shaibu, the immediate past deputy governor of Edo State, who becomes director-general of the Nigerian Institute of Sport.
In the statement confirming the appointments, presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga said:
“These appointments mark a major step in President Tinubu’s commitment to revitalise public institutions and deepen governance reforms.”

- Comrade Isa Aremu (Kwara), as DG of Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies
- Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani (Zamfara), as MD of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC)
- Abubakar Umar Jarengol (Adamawa), as Executive Director (Operations/Technical), NAIC
- Babaranti Ayandayo Rasheed (Osun), as Executive Director (Finance/Admin), NAIC
- Asabe Vilita Bashir (Borno), as DG of the National Centre for Women’s Development
- Omobolanle Akinyemi-Obe (Ondo), as DG of the National Senior Citizens Centre in Abuja
