Mallam Salihu Lukman, the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress for North-West, has officially resigned from his position in the APC National Working Committee.

Lukman submitted his resignation letter to the acting National Chairman of the party, Senator Abubakar Kyari.

His resignation comes after the recent resignations of Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore from their positions in the APC.

In his resignation letter, Lukman expressed his belief that the party’s atmosphere is not in line with its founding vision of being a progressive party.

He stated that he is stepping down to avoid becoming a distraction for party leaders, especially President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Lukman, however, stated that he will remain a member of the party in the hope that the party’s leaders will retract from unjust and illegal acts.

The news of Lukman’s resignation has surprised many members of the ruling party, and a crucial meeting of the NWC has been called in response.
