Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress has been declared the winner of Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election, amassing 8,794,726 votes.
His closest contenders were Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the People’s Democratic Party and Labour Party respectively, who scored 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes.
Additionally, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party gained 1,496,687 votes while other political parties combined had a total of 666,298 votes.
Tinubu fulfilled the 25 percent vote requirement in 24 different states as required by Nigeria’s Electoral Act 2022 to secure his candidacy.
The three victorious contenders each won 12 states including the Federal Capital Territory while Kwankwaso took Kano State.
