The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says the Tinubu-led government is holding secret talks with its state chairmen to sabotage its growing coalition movement, NaijNaira can report.
In a statement on Monday, ADC’s spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi claimed some former state chairmen in the North-East and North-West were summoned by government officials.
“We have credible intelligence that the aim of this meeting is not for national security or peacebuilding. It is to intimidate, coerce, and if possible, co-opt these individuals into a fabricated scheme against the opposition coalition,” he said.
The party accused the ruling APC of trying to derail its momentum and divide its internal leadership.
“The July 1st Coalition Declaration has clearly rattled the ruling party,” Abdullahi added.
ADC urged President Tinubu to stop his appointees from interfering, reminding him that APC wouldn’t exist if past governments had acted this way.
