Tobi Amusan has been conferred the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.
The 25-year-old recently hit the headlines after winning a gold medal in the 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America.
Amusan also set a new world record in the process.
The Ogun-state-born athlete was the first Nigerian athlete (male or female to achieve the feat.
Amusan also won a gold medal in the same event at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Just last week, she successfully defended her Diamond League title.
The athlete also broke the 22-year-old record set by America’s Gail Devers.
