Tottenham’s Bentancur Faces Seven-Game Ban and £100K Fine Over Racist Remark

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Rodrigo Bentancur has been banned for seven games and fined £100,000 by the FA for making an inappropriate comment during a TV interview in his native Uruguay.

When asked about South Korean teammate Son Heung-min’s shirt, Bentancur joked, “Sonny’s? It could be Sonny’s cousin too as they all look the same.”

The FA deemed this an ‘aggravated breach’ of their guidelines, and an independent regulatory commission upheld the decision.

Bentancur denied the charge and apologized to Son, but the punishment still stands.

The ban applies only to domestic competitions, meaning Bentancur will miss Premier League and Carabao Cup matches until Boxing Day.

However, he will be available to play in Tottenham’s Europa League fixtures, including their upcoming match against AS Roma and a trip to Rangers on December 12.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou will be relieved, as Bentancur is a key player for the team.

The club is already dealing with several injury concerns, including long-term absentees Richarlison and Wilson Odobert, and Micky van de Ven’s thigh injury.
