Tunde Kelani, a veteran filmmaker, is set to showcase his latest work, ‘Cordelia’, at the 30th New York African Film Festival in May.

The festival’s director, Mahen Bonneti, selected ‘Cordelia’ and a short film, ‘Employee of the Month’ by Goga Clay, to screen at the Lincoln Center.

Kelani expressed his delight at the selection, stating that the film is a product of diverse cultural backgrounds united by a creative force without boundaries.

‘Cordelia’ is a thought-provoking movie set in early 90s Nigeria during military rule, adapted from a fiction work by renowned playwright and poet, Femi Osofisan.

The story follows a university professor who unwittingly becomes embroiled in a military coup.

The film features a talented cast, including Omowunmi Dada as Cordelia, Williams Benson as Dr Adekunle, Yvonne Jegede as Remi, and Keppy Ekpeyong as Colonel Nwankwo Peters.

The film was screen written by Bunmi Ajiboye, executive produced by Tayo Oladimeji and Kunle Adebiyi, and directed by Tunde Kelani.
