The UEFA Champions League 2025/26 league-stage draw is taking place in Monaco this Thursday, where Europe’s top clubs will finally know their opponents — www.naijnaira.com reports.
According to Sportstar, the competition keeps the 36-team league format that was first introduced last season.
Each club will be assigned eight matches in total, facing two teams from each pot, with one fixture at home and the other away.
Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain are in Pot 1 alongside heavyweights Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool.
Other strong contenders like Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, and Juventus find themselves in Pot 2.
Tottenham, who lifted the Europa League, join Pot 3 with clubs like Ajax, Napoli, and PSV Eindhoven.
The final pot includes FC Copenhagen, AS Monaco, Galatasaray, Newcastle United, and others looking to spring surprises.
UEFA rules prevent teams from being drawn against sides from the same association, while no club can face more than two from the same country.
The draw ceremony starts at 9:30 p.m. IST on August 28, with Sony Sports Network broadcasting it live in India and streaming available on SonyLiv.
The full fixture schedule for the league stage will be released on August 31.
