Frank Lampard’s tenure as Chelsea manager got off to a rocky start as his team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid, effectively ending their Champions League hopes.

This loss marked Lampard’s fourth consecutive defeat since taking over the team in April, making him the first Chelsea manager in the club’s history to lose his first four opening games.

Despite dominating play in the first half, Chelsea fell to Madrid without much of a fight, with Rodrygo scoring two goals for the Spanish giants.

Lampard remained optimistic after the game, praising his team’s effort and vowing to continue implementing their strategies for the rest of the season.

However, with Brentford up next, Lampard will need to turn things around quickly if he hopes to salvage his second spell at the helm of his former club.
