Policy Changes in Lagos Aim to Ease Petrol Scarcity with 24-Hour Operations

On Wednesday, the governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, granted permission for fuel stations to operate 24 hours a day in the state.

This move was meant to alleviate the petrol scarcity across Lagos due to the restrictions made by the Federal Government earlier last month.

While speaking at a press conference, Governor Sanwo-Olu further announced that dialogue had been held with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) and access to tank farms had been given where 40 percent of petrol products come from.

In order to ease cash scarcity in the state, fares on all state-owned transportation have also been reduced by 50 percent.
