Victor Boniface has finally broken his silence after AC Milan pulled the plug on his much-anticipated transfer to Serie A – www.naijnaira.com reports.
According to Soccernet.ng, the 24-year-old striker was on the verge of joining Milan last week, with even discussions about his shirt number taking place before the deal collapsed.
Milan reportedly backed out after raising concerns about his history of knee injuries, which include two serious ligament setbacks earlier in his career.
The news came as a huge disappointment for Boniface, but the Nigerian forward insists he remains positive about his future.
“I believe in my ability, and I won’t let this bring me down,” he told fans while responding on Snapchat.
His frustration was evident when he clashed with critics online, accusing some Nigerian fans of unfairly labeling him unserious.
The drama intensified when Fabrizio Romano shared Boniface’s Instagram post with a misleading caption suggesting it was aimed at AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface immediately reached out to the journalist, warning him to delete the post, which Romano later did.
With the Milan chapter closed, the Super Eagles star may now consider a move away from Bayer Leverkusen in search of regular playing time.
