Move over, Marvel—Nigeria has its own league of extraordinary elders, and they’re not here to play! Mr. Macaroni has dropped a brand-new skit, Avengers of Nollywood, a high-energy parody of The Avengers that replaces super suits with flowing agbadas and magical hammers with incantations.
Premiering on Saturday, the skit assembles a legendary lineup of Nollywood’s most mystical and fearsome actors, including Pete Edochie, Chiwetalu Agu, Peter Fatomilola, and Lalude.
But that’s not all—Adewale Alebiosu, Abija Wara, Emeka Ani, and Harry B also make grand appearances, forming what can only be described as the ultimate squad of seasoned spellcasters.
The hilarious saga continues from a previous skit, where Edochie—playing the role of an elderly suitor—successfully wins the hand of Mr. Macaroni’s daughter, Motunde.
But rather than stick around for a wedding, Edochie vanishes into thin air with the bride-to-be, leaving Macaroni to embark on an over-the-top mission to retrieve his daughter.
Determined to track down the runaway groom, Macaroni enlists the help of a traditionalist, leading to an epic showdown at Edochie’s home.
But instead of a straightforward confrontation, things quickly escalate into a battle royale of incantations, juju warfare, and spiritual grandstanding, as Edochie calls upon his own mystical reinforcements. The result?
A chaotic spectacle of verbal showdowns, exaggerated hand gestures, and more Nollywood-style power clashes than you can count.
Just when things are about to spiral completely out of control, Peter Fatomilola steps in as the peacemaker, bringing a surprising twist to the supernatural slugfest.
The skit is a brilliant nod to Nollywood’s legendary actors, serving as both a hilarious parody and a loving tribute to the classic characters they’ve portrayed over the years.
