Chelsea have secured the signing of 22-year-old Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson in a €35 million deal.
Despite interest from other clubs, the Blues were able to win the race for the Senegal international’s signature.
Jackson rose through the ranks at Villarreal and made a name for himself in his debut season in the Spanish top flight, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists in 38 matches.
Chelsea had been in need of a new forward after struggling to score goals in the 2022-23 season, and Jackson’s versatility and goal-scoring ability make him a valuable addition to the squad.
The Blues have reached full agreement with both the player and the club and will pay the release clause in instalments.
Jackson’s medical will take place over the weekend, and he will sign a long-term deal with the London club.
