West Ham are in talks with Juventus over a possible £30 million swap deal involving Nayef Aguerd and Daniele Rugani, NaijNaira can report.
According to Sky Italy, Juventus are keen on signing Aguerd, while West Ham are looking to bring Rugani to the Premier League.
Aguerd joined West Ham from Rennes three years ago in a £30 million move but had a tough start after undergoing ankle surgery.
The Moroccan defender played a role in West Ham’s UEFA Europa Conference League victory two years ago before spending last season on loan at Real Sociedad.
Rugani has been with Juventus since 2012 but has struggled for regular appearances and spent last season on loan at Ajax.
The Italian defender, 30, is currently part of Juventus’ FIFA Club World Cup squad but was left on the bench in their 5-0 win over Al-Ain last Wednesday.
Sky Italy stated, “Juventus are very interested in Nayef Aguerd,” while “West Ham have expressed concrete interest in Daniele Rugani.”
Talks between both clubs are ongoing, with discussions focused on reaching an agreement soon.
Aguerd is also attracting attention from Bayer Leverkusen and Marseille during this summer’s transfer window.
Real Sociedad are hoping to bring Aguerd back on loan, but West Ham would rather agree on a permanent transfer if manager Graham Potter decides to let him leave.
Updates on the potential swap deal between West Ham and Juventus are expected in the coming days.
