If you’ve ever opened WhatsApp to find hundreds of unread messages, you’re not alone—Meta just rolled out a smart fix to save your time, NaijNaira can report.

In a recent post by SamMobile, Meta introduced an AI-powered feature called Message Summaries for WhatsApp, letting users quickly catch up on unread chats.

This feature uses Meta AI to scan your unread messages and generate a short summary highlighting the key points, so you no longer need to open each message one by one.

The option to use it appears as a “Summarize Privately” button at the top of your chat thread, allowing you to get the gist of conversations instantly.

Meta assures users that message content is processed securely through what they call Private Processing. The company states, “Neither Meta AI nor Meta can see your messages or summaries.”

Privacy remains central. The feature is off by default, and users can manually choose which chats get AI access via Advanced Chat Privacy settings.

Currently, Message Summaries are only available in English for WhatsApp users in the U.S., but Meta plans to extend this tool to other regions later this year.

So if you’re using a Galaxy S24 Ultra, or any Samsung Galaxy device, this update could land on your phone soon, making your chat experience a whole lot smoother.
