In an intense Champions League Round of 16 clash between Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea on Wednesday, Karim Adeyemi’s superb length-of-the-field goal was the difference that gave Dortmund the win.
The game began with both sides sharing possession, but Dortmund soon dominated, with Mykhailo Mudryk’s pace troubling the home side frequently early.
Despite some chances for both sides in the first half, no goals were scored and heading into halftime, it looked like it could go either way.

And eventually, Adeyemi was there to deliver a killer blow as he pounced on a clearance from a Chelsea corner to score what would turn out to be the winning goal.
Late on in the game, Koulibaly almost provided an equaliser with a shot towards goal which looked certain to nestle itself into the back of the net but Can intervened heroically to clear any danger and ensure victory for Borussia Dortmund – thereby leaving Chelsea’s hopes of progressing in this year’s Champions League hanging by a thread.
