Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello recently opened up about her decision to end her 25-year marriage.
In a conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Bello explained that the long-distance nature of her relationship with her estranged husband, who lived in the United States, ultimately led to their divorce.
While she acknowledged that her ex-husband was a good father to their children, Bello felt that she needed more from her marriage and that the distance between them made it difficult to maintain a strong connection.
The mother of two said: “He [my ex-husband] was a good father to his children. But I got to a place where I wanted more. And I would always travel back and forth. But I knew at a point that if I really want this, it came with a sacrifice.
“It wasn’t a sacrifice of marriage, but then he being there [USA] and the distance didn’t help.”
Despite the challenges, Bello made the difficult decision to end the marriage and move forward with her life.
