Wout Weghorst is a Dutch professional footballer, currently playing for Turkish Süper Lig club Beşiktaş on loan from EFL Championship club Burnley.

He began his career at local clubs RKSV NEO and DETO Twenterand before signing for Willem II in 2011.
Despite having the opportunity to make his way into the first-team, he never broke through and only featured for the reserve team.
It wasn’t until 2012, when he joined Eerste Divisie club Emmen, that Wout made his professional football debut.
During his two-year spell with Emmen, Wout scored 8 goals in 28 league matches. In 2014 Wout signed with Heracles Almelo on a free transfer and made his Eredivisie debut during their 0-3 loss against AZ in The Polman Stadion.
His second season with Heracles was much more successful as they ended up sixth spot and qualified for the Europa League qualifying round – the first time ever for Heracles Almelo!

International career
Weghorst has represented his country Netherlands at every level from Under-21 to the national team. In March 2018, he made his senior international debut against England.
After being selected for the Dutch squad for UEFA Euro 2020 and scoring against Ukraine in their opening group game, Weghorst went on to be chosen for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
