APC Chieftain Adamu Garba has made a fresh dig at the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, saying he “will never come close” to the presidency of Nigeria.
Garba’s comments follow a statement by Obi, who said he is “committed to transforming Nigeria, starting from the North”.
Garba took to his verified Twitter handle to call Obi a “bigoted, religious, ethnocentric merchant”, and accused him of insulting Northerners.
Garba added that the presidency of Nigeria “shall remain in your illusionary dream forever” and suggested that Obi could “go to Finland to contend with your new Biafra government in exile.”

I advise Peter Obi to continue with his failed Biafra agitation. That is more fitting for him. Perhaps Simon Ekpa may appoint him as the ambassador at-large in exile.

Obi’s statement had been seen as an attempt to appeal to Northern voters, a crucial demographic in Nigerian politics.
However, Garba’s response indicates that the APC is not willing to let the Labour Party gain any ground in the region.
