Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged President Bola Tinubu to focus on resolving his internal fallout with Vice President Kashim Shettima before poking into the matters of the African Democratic Congress, www.naijnaira.com reports.
In a reaction issued through his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku responded to Tinubu’s comments during the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Committee gathering on Thursday.
Atiku faulted Tinubu for appearing more concerned about his 2027 re-election than addressing national challenges, accusing the president of sidestepping urgent issues affecting citizens.
“President Tinubu should first resolve the visible rift between himself and Vice President Kashim Shettima and fix Nigeria’s broken economy before meddling in the affairs of the ADC,” the statement said.
He went on to criticize the presidency for allegedly using public resources to stir up conflict among opposition groups to weaken their collective strength.
Atiku further alleged that the federal government attempted to spark tension between his supporters and Peter Obi’s camp within the Coalition but failed to achieve that aim.
“The cracks have been mended, and the Coalition is now stronger than ever,” Atiku stated.
