According to recent reports, Ivan Toney, a 28-year-old striker, is keen on joining Manchester United. The team is in need of a prominent striker to bolster their attack, and Toney seems to fit the bill. It is said that Toney is prepared to accept a staggering £250,000 per week deal to move to Old Trafford.
Currently earning a modest £36,000 a week at Brentford, Toney’s willingness to sign such a lucrative contract with Manchester United is not surprising. The Sun suggests that if he secures the aforementioned deal, he will earn more than Man United captain Bruno Fernandes.
Toney’s contract with Brentford is set to expire in the summer of 2025. It is worth noting that Manchester United has a reputation for overpaying their players, and they already have a substantial payroll. This may explain Toney’s desire to sign a big contract in order to join the club.
