The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially launched its nationwide Continuous Voter Registration, beginning with the online pre-registration stage – www.naijnaira.com reports.

According to The Guardian, eligible citizens can now log on to cvr.inecnigeria.org to start their registration before the physical exercise begins on August 25, 2025.

INEC confirmed that the in-person registration will take place at all 37 state headquarters and across 774 local government offices in the country.

“The CVR is open to Nigerians who have turned 18, those seeking to collect or transfer their PVCs, and people needing replacements for missing or damaged cards,” the commission explained.

Officials warned against multiple registrations, stressing that violators will face strict sanctions.

INEC urged every eligible citizen to seize the opportunity, noting that voter registration remains the gateway to participating in Nigeria’s democracy.

A dedicated call center number, 0700-CALL-INEC, has also been provided for public inquiries.
