Nigeria’s movie industry is mourning the passing of veteran actor Fabian Adibe, who died peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday at the age of 82 – www.naijnaira.com reports.
Journalist and filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi confirmed the news on social media, writing: “Things Fall Apart actor, Fabian Adibie, is dead. Died 2:30 am this morning.”
Adibe became a household name after starring in the NTA television adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s novel Things Fall Apart.
He played Ogbuefi Uzowulu alongside Pete Edochie, leaving audiences captivated with his calm but commanding delivery.
Long before Nollywood, Adibe represented Nigeria at the Commonwealth Art Festival in 1965, marking the beginning of a journey that would influence generations.
His television career gained momentum in 1987 when Things Fall Apart aired, cementing his place in Nigeria’s cultural memory.
