Victor Osimhen has been left out of Galatasaray’s traveling squad for Thursday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt — www.naijnaira.com reports.
The Nigerian striker has been sidelined since sustaining a shin injury in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Rwanda during their 2026 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.
According to the club’s official update, the forward was not part of the 23-man list announced for the trip to Germany, cutting short hopes of his early return.
Osimhen’s injury came in the first half at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, where he was forced off and replaced by Cyriel Dessers.
Galatasaray Media disclosed on Wednesday that the Super Eagles star did not feature in the squad’s last training session before departure, confirming his absence.
The Turkish side sees his unavailability as a heavy blow, especially as they aim to kick off their Champions League campaign with momentum.
Last season, Galatasaray failed to progress beyond the play-off stage in the Europa League, losing 6-3 on aggregate to AZ Alkmaar.
Osimhen had enjoyed a bright start to the new season, scoring in both of his first two appearances before the setback.
