The football community was devastated by the untimely passing of Sylla Moustapha, a young and promising Ivorian left-back.
During a match between Racing Club d’Abidjan and SOL FC in Cote d’Ivoire, the 21-year-old collapsed on the pitch and tragically never recovered.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and its President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, were among those expressing their grief at the heartbreaking news.
Dr Motsepe mourned Moustapha’s loss and offered condolences to his family, as well as to Idriss Diallo, President of the Ivorian Football Federation, Racing Club d’Abidjan, and the people of Cote d’Ivoire who lost a talented young player with so much potential.
