Lagos PDP explains reasons for suspension of chairman, deputy

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its chairman, Hon. Philip Aivoji, and his deputy, Hon. Benedict Felix, citing pending legal action against them by members of the party from their wards.

The party claims that the duo had been previously suspended for anti-party activities and had failed to comply with the suspension.

The PDP also alleges that Aivoji was involved in anti-party activities prior to the last general elections in the country, citing a press statement issued on his behalf by his special adviser on media, Mr. Seyi Sodipo.

The statement claimed that the Lagos PDP had formed an alliance with the Labour Party against the APC, which the PDP denies.

The PDP justifies the suspension, stating that there is a case against Aivoji and his deputy for disobeying the party’s directive at the ward level and that the suspension was necessary to maintain party discipline.
