According to reports, former President Muhammadu Buhari has received assurance and protection from President Bola Tinubu regarding any political anti-corruption investigations by the new government.
During a meeting in London, Buhari requested that he and his close aides be exempt from any probes by the Tinubu-led administration.
This request comes as the Tinubu-led government has been attempting to investigate corruption allegations against officials from the previous administration.
Calls for probes into the activities of Buhari and his ministers have also been increasing.
It has been reported that during their meeting, Tinubu and Buhari reached an agreement that Buhari and his close aides would not be subjected to any corruption investigations during Tinubu’s tenure.
Tinubu had traveled to London for a private visit after attending a summit in Paris, France, and has since returned to Nigeria.
