Inter Milan has made a bid for Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard, hoping to outpace Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal in acquiring the Frenchman.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan has offered €25m (£21.3m) for the World Cup-winning defender.
Pavard has expressed his desire to leave Bayern this summer and experience a new league, whether it be in Italy or the Premier League.
However, as Pavard’s contract expires next season, Bayern may demand a higher price than the £21.3m offered by Inter Milan.
Manchester United remains interested in Pavard but is struggling to secure the necessary funds, as their plans to sell Harry Maguire have not materialized.
Arsenal, initially not in the market for another defender, is considering making a move following a serious knee injury to summer-signing Jurrien Timber.
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel stated that Pavard has not expressed his desire to leave the club and that he continues to receive full support.
