Rumors are spreading that Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Atiku is quickly setting the record straight and denying these rumors.

His media adviser, Paul Ibe, called the claims “malicious lies” and a “political hatchet job.”

The rumors started with a Facebook post from the page “Adamawa Happenings.”

According to Legit.ng, Atiku has not left the PDP.

Ibe stated that Atiku remains a “steadfast, bonafide, and loyal member of the party.”

Paul Ibe emphasized, “His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria (1999–2007) and Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has not — we repeat, has not — resigned from the PDP.”

Ibe also pointed out that these false claims came from a faceless social media platform.

He urged Nigerians to ignore the rumors and treat them with “contempt.”

Atiku remains fully committed to the PDP and its ideals.

There is still uncertainty about whether Atiku will run for president in 2027.

Atiku seems focused on uniting opposition figures to challenge the ruling party.

Sources suggest that other figures, like Peter Obi and Nasir El-Rufai, may also play roles in the 2027 election.
