Uzodinma Odenigbo has been appointed as the new Corporate Affairs Director at Nigerian Breweries Plc. He steps into the role following the promotion of Sade Morgan, who now serves as Heineken’s Corporate Affairs Director for Africa, Middle East, and Africa.
According to Oliwe Anthony of Nigerian Breweries’ official update, the announcement was made by the company’s Managing Director, Hans Essaadi, and Odenigbo’s appointment took effect on May 1, 2025.
Odenigbo joined Nigerian Breweries in 2017 and has held several key positions, including Public Affairs Manager for the southern region of Nigeria. He later took on broader responsibilities, leading public and external affairs nationwide and shaping strategy across multiple regions.
He played a major role in the execution of Nigerian Breweries’ 2024 business recovery plan. One of his notable contributions was achieving zero disruption to operations and avoiding negative media coverage through a strategic communications framework.
In July 2024, he was assigned to Brarudi, a Heineken subsidiary in Burundi, as Corporate Affairs Director on a short-term assignment. During his time there, he worked on a reputation campaign focused on sustainability and led internal communication efforts that improved employee sentiment.
Odenigbo also drove initiatives to support export growth and local sourcing while managing advocacy related to excise taxes in East Africa. He returned to Nigeria after operationalizing a new playbook to guide Corporate Affairs strategy through 2025.
He holds an MBA and a PhD in Mass Communications, and is known for his passion for connection-building and active living.
“I’m excited to take on this new challenge and continue to drive positive impact through meaningful engagement,” Odenigbo said.
