Afropop artist Davido has entered a new chapter in his international career, finalizing a global partnership deal with sports betting and gaming giant Stake.
NaijNaira learnt the agreement was secured with the help of Dupla, Cresthood Legal LLP, and the African Union Sports Council (AUSC)—three firms that combined local expertise with international reach to structure the Davido global deal.
The advisory teams praised Davido’s blend of creativity and business insight as a major reason why Stake chose him to lead its African market strategy. Speaking on the deal, Oluwasanmi Falade, a partner at Cresthood Legal, said the goal was to shape a partnership that benefits all parties in the long term.
“Davido’s unique brand value and cultural influence made him the clear choice, and we’re proud to have contributed to making this vision a reality,” Falade noted.
The Stake partnership is seen as a milestone for African representation in global deals. Uche Egbe, MD of AUSC Region 2, emphasized the significance of an African team driving a deal of this scale.
“It’s exciting to see a deal of this scale shaped by an African-led team. The depth of local understanding paired with international experience made the outcome truly impactful,” Egbe added.
Luis Cardenas and Miguel Montoro, co-founders of Dupla and former senior executives at LALIGA, commended the structure of the agreement and the professionalism of the African-led negotiations. Their collaboration helped ensure that the Davido Stake deal was executed with full cultural and commercial awareness.
The deal positions Afropop artist Davido as a key face for Stake’s expansion into African markets, combining global branding with a strong regional presence.
