Nollywood actress and producer Biola Adebayo shocked fans when she announced her separation from husband Oluseyi Akinrinde, according to reports from her social media post on June 3, 2025. The couple had been separated since April 2024 but chose to keep the news private until now.
In her heartfelt Instagram message, Adebayo shared that they had agreed to peacefully co-parent their two-year-old son, born through a surrogate mother in April 2023. She wrote, “Happy birthday to my ex-husband, and my baby daddy. I pray that grace will abound unto you, I pray you find peace in all your ways, may God continue to light your path and bless you beyond your expectations in Jesus’ name.”
Biola emphasized the absence of any physical abuse in their marriage, stating, “We never! I mean, never had any physical abuse or violence issues from either of us. (Seyi has never laid a finger on me, and I never did as well).” She also revealed the emotional toll of the separation, saying, “While I go about making other people happy in the day, my pillow is drenched with my own tears almost every night for the past 14 months but I gain strength from Christ who loves me eternally and gave himself for me.”
Despite the challenges, Adebayo continues to focus on healing and prioritizing her son’s well-being. While Oluseyi has not publicly responded, his sister Florence Akinrinde posted a message expressing support for her brother and alluding to the difficulties in the situation.
Earlier in 2023, Biola had opened up on her YouTube channel about her whirlwind romance and marriage to Oluseyi, which began within six months of meeting. This recent separation is not her first public relationship challenge; she previously spoke about an earlier relationship that ended due to genotype incompatibility and denied that it was a formal marriage.
