President Donald Trump avoided confirming whether he will order a US strike on Iran, telling reporters, “I may do it, I may not do it.” Speaking at the White House, Trump kept the country guessing about America’s next move amid rising tensions with Tehran, according to an AP report. “Nobody knows what I’m going to do,” he said, adding to the uncertainty.
Trump insisted it’s not “too late” for Iran to give up its nuclear program, warning, “Iran’s got a lot of trouble.” He also noted, “Nothing is finished until it is finished,” hinting that significant developments could happen soon. These remarks came after Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned that any US attack would bring “irreparable damage” and rejected calls to surrender.
When asked about Khamenei’s stance, Trump replied, “I say good luck.” He also mentioned that the US knows where Khamenei is hiding but said the leader is “safe there” for now and that the US is “not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.”
Trump’s tough rhetoric comes as the conflict between Israel and Iran intensifies. He has urged Iranian civilians to leave the country amid growing risks. Earlier this week, Trump cut short his attendance at an international summit to return to Washington for urgent talks with his national security team.
