Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State and his supporters that they will not regret joining the All Progressives Congress, NaijNaira can report.
According to ThisDay, President Bola Tinubu specifically asked Shettima to personally deliver this message to Governor Eno and his team.
Shettima told the governor that his place in the APC is secure and he will not face rejection or disrespect within the party.
Speaking at the Grand Reception in Uyo, Shettima said, “Mr. President is a bridge-builder and an inveterate democrat.”
He added, “Your decision to join the APC is one that you will never regret.”
The Vice President also assured, “No one will question your place here. This party is your home. You will not be abandoned.”
Shettima described the APC as a party built on lasting principles, not temporary success.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio welcomed Governor Eno’s move to the APC, calling it a sign of political growth for Akwa Ibom State.
Akpabio hinted that Sim Fubara of Rivers State and Douye Diri of Bayelsa State could also join the APC soon.
He thanked Governor Eno, saying, “You have chosen partnership over partisanship.”
Governor Eno explained that joining the APC is a step towards making the Ibom Deep Seaport a reality.
He said his choice is aimed at securing meaningful development for Akwa Ibom.
APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, welcomed the governor and emphasized that President Tinubu’s leadership focuses on unity and inclusive progress.
Ganduje said the APC remains committed to internal democracy, discipline, and development across the region.
