Sevilla striker Akor Adams says playing for the Super Eagles remains his biggest dream, NaijNaira can report.
The Nigerian forward spoke openly on the SLUM2STARDOM podcast, sharing his desire to wear the national colours and represent his roots on the global stage. He joins fellow Nigerians Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke at Sevilla.
“I think there’s rarely a Nigerian kid who plays football that does not dream of wearing the shirt,” Adams said. “There is no bigger honour than that.”
Adams, 24, has played only at youth level for Nigeria but believes his time is coming.
He credited former internationals for guiding him, including John Utaka and Anthony Ujah. “I messaged Ujah when the Sevilla offer came, and he told me to go ahead with it,” he said.
Before his La Liga switch, Adams built his name in Norway with Lillestrom, then earned a Ligue 1 move to Montpellier.
“Norway was very important in my story,” he said. “It was difficult but good.”
He described Lillestrom as a “springboard” and said Montpellier made him feel welcome. “John [Utaka] spoke to me, and that played a part in my decision,” Adams added.
He scored a debut brace in France and now hopes his Sevilla journey will push him closer to a national team call-up.
Despite early injury setbacks, he’s set for a full season in Spain and remains focused.
“Representing Nigeria… there is no greater honour for me,” he repeated.
