Victor Osimhen, the prolific Nigerian striker, reportedly turned down a potential move to Manchester United over wage-related concerns, NaijNaira can report. Despite strong interest from the Premier League club, Osimhen chose stability over uncertainty, prioritizing his current situation at Galatasaray.

According to Corriere dello Sport, journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu stated that Manchester United wanted Osimhen to accept a pay cut, which the striker wasn’t open to. Though he impressed with 37 goals in 41 games, the club refrained from submitting a formal offer due to his wage demands.

“Osimhen was not willing to lower his salary for the transfer,” Sabuncuoğlu explained.

At 26, Osimhen appears content in Turkey, where he has found consistent form and team success. His decision challenges assumptions that a Premier League move is the ultimate goal for every top striker.

Talks are ongoing between Galatasaray and Napoli regarding a permanent transfer, as Osimhen’s initial move was a loan deal. For now, the forward looks set to continue leading the line for Galatasaray.
