According to Corriere dello Sport, journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu stated that Manchester United wanted Osimhen to accept a pay cut, which the striker wasn’t open to. Though he impressed with 37 goals in 41 games, the club refrained from submitting a formal offer due to his wage demands.
“Osimhen was not willing to lower his salary for the transfer,” Sabuncuoğlu explained.
